Resources for starting and running a practice
Guides for clinicians who want to start, run, or grow an independent practice: the steps, the costs, the legal questions, and the choices along the way.
How we write these guides
These articles are for clinicians starting or running an independent practice. Each guide names the agencies and fees it checked, links to primary sources, and flags where state law or contracts need a lawyer.
How to use this page
These guides are for a clinician who is starting a practice or changing how one runs. They are articles, not legal advice and not a Vye contract. Each one names the agencies, fees, or cases it checked, links to those sources, and says when a figure was last verified. A later statute can overtake a page.
The set covers the early decisions: whether to leave employment, what a startup costs, how a cash-pay practice differs from an insured one, and how an NP practice arranges collaboration. Other guides take one service line at a time, such as primary care, weight loss, hormones, menopause, peptides, longevity, or sports medicine.
A second cluster is the business around the clinic. You will find pages on telehealth, direct primary care, concierge practice, management services organizations, revenue share, malpractice tail coverage, and physician non-competes. The non-compete guide is a 14-state comparison with sources, not a 50-state opinion.
Read the guide that matches the decision in front of you, then open its sources before you rely on a number. State rules for opening a practice are in the state guides, linked from Providers. Product pages in the footer say what Vye itself offers. If a cited link or a fee on a guide is stale, send the page address through the corrections policy.
The cards are the full set. Titles are the decisions. Descriptions under the titles are the one-line scope, not the article. Open the card before you quote a figure. A guide about employment, startup cost, or a single service line does not also answer a different state's corporate-practice rule.
Two paths leave this hub on purpose. Clinicians comparing states use the state guides. Clinicians checking an approved sentence about Vye itself use the facts page. This hub stays on the practical articles: startup, contracts, service lines, and the entities around a practice.
Start with how to start a private practice, how to start a weight loss clinic, whether an MSO is worth it, or physician non-compete rules by state.

Medical practice marketing for clinicians
How a new medical practice can market itself: the HIPAA and AMA rules on advertising, which channels to start with, and what not to promise.
Physician credentialing services
Physician credentialing services enroll a clinician with payers. See what to prepare, how long Vye says it takes, and what you can set up while you wait.
Practice management software, explained
Practice management software schedules visits, takes payment, and tracks work around the chart. See how that fits an EHR, and how Vye Core is set up.
