Starting a practice, state by state
What it takes to open a practice in each state: practice authority for nurse practitioners, non-compete rules, telehealth, and corporate practice laws.
Who these state guides are for
Each guide is for a clinician opening or relocating a practice in one state. We cite the statutes and agencies we checked on the page, link to primary sources, and say when a fee or form was last verified.
How to use this page
Each guide is one state, written for a clinician who might open or move a practice there. The usual topics are practice authority for nurse practitioners, non-compete rules, telehealth, and corporate-practice limits. The page cites the statute or agency it checked and the date of that check. It is a briefing, not an opinion letter.
Do not read a state guide as permission to practice. Licensing boards, payers, and employers apply the rules to a person and a contract. The guide's job is to show the public text and the questions to take to a lawyer. A fee or a form that was current on the verified date may have changed.
The cards below are the states with a published guide. A state that is missing does not have a page yet. It is not a statement that the rules there are simple. Patient-facing pages about being seen by a Vye provider live under the health library, in care by state, and they answer a different question.
If your question is a contract you have already signed, start with the physician non-compete guide in provider resources and then come back to the state. If your question is what Vye would operate for you, the product pages and the facts page are the approved descriptions. This hub does not restate those offers.
Open one state at a time. A rule you remember from the state where you trained may not be the rule where you would practice. The card's description says which topics that state's page covers. The page itself carries the citations. This hub does not copy those citations into the index.
